Ever since I was 10 and read my first Hardy Boys book, I’ve been writing fiction. Success? That’s another story. I’ve written two manuscripts for novels and am currently working on a third. Ideas aren’t the problem. Confidence? An understanding of the industry? There’s the rub. I obtained a Master’s Degree from the wonderful Wilkes University Creative Writing program and made some great friends and contacts among talented writers of every shape and size, who have offered a wealth of encouragement and support. I’ve attended conferences. Revised like hell. Success is still glinting out there on the horizon. One thing I need is a solid online reference. I love great writing, but unfortunately my knowledge of the industry can be summed with “It’s rough.” So, absent the site I need, I’ve decided to start this blog. I hope it will help all the aspiring fiction writers like me who dream of one day getting that acceptance letter.
